Obstacle to our growth

"Once upon a time in a faraway land, there lived a Chinese wise man and his disciple. One day in their travels, they saw a hut in the distance. As they approached they realized that it was occupied in spite of its extremely poor appearance.

a man lived with his wife, three young children and a thin, tired cow. Since they were hungry and thirsty, the wise man and his disciple stopped for a few hours and were well received. At one point, the wise man asked:
“This is a very poor place, far away from anything. How do you
survive?”
“You see that cow? That’s what keeps us going,” said the head
of the family. “She gives us milk, some of it we drink and some were make into cheese. When there is extra, we go into the city and exchange the milk and cheese for other types of food.
That’s how we survive.”
The wise man thanked them for their hospitality and left. When he reached the first bend in the road, he said to his disciple:
“Go back, get the cow, take her to the cliff in front of us, and push her off.”

The disciple could not believe what he was hearing.
“I cannot do that, master! How can you be so ungrateful? The
cow is all they have. If I throw it on the cliff, they’ll have no way to survive. Without the cow, they’ll all die!”
The wise man, an elderly Chinese man, took a deep breath
and repeated the order: “Go ahead. Push the cow off the cliff.” Though outraged at what he was being asked to do, the student was resigned to obey his master.
He returned to the hut and quietly led the animal to the edge
of the cliff and pushed. The cow fell down the cliff and died.
As the years passed by, remorse for what he had done never left the disciple. One spring day, the guilt became too much to bear and he left the wise man and returned to that little shack. He wanted to find out what had happened to that family, to help them out, apologize, or somehow make amends.
Upon rounding a turn in the road, he could not believe what his eyes were showing him. In place of the poor shack there was a beautiful house with trees all
around, a swimming pool, several cars in the garage, a satellite dish, and on and on. Three
good-looking teenagers and their parents were celebrating their first million dollars.
The heart of the disciple froze. What could have happened to the family? Without a doubt, they must have been starving to death and forced to sell their land and leave. At that moment, the student thought they must all be begging on the street corners of some city. He approached the
house and asked a man that was passing by about the whereabouts of the family that had lived
there several years before.

Unable to believe what he was hearing, the disciple walked through the gate and took a few steps
closer to the pool where he recognized the man from several
years before, only now he was strong and confident, the woman was happy, and the children were now nice-looking teenagers.
He was dumbfounded, and went over to the man and asked:
“What happened? I was here with my teacher a few years ago and this was a miserable place.
There was nothing. What did you do to improve your lives in
such a short time?”
The man looked at the disciple, and replied with a smile:
“We had a cow that kept us alive. She was all we had. But one
day she fell down the cliff and died. To survive, we had to start doing other things, develop skills we didn’t even know we had.
And so, because we were forced to come up with new ways of
doing things, we are now much better off than before.”
Moral of the story: Sometimes our dependency on something small and limited is the biggest
obstacle to our growth. Perhaps the best thing that could happen to you is to push your “cow” down the cliff. Once you free yourself of the thought “it’s little
but it’s certain,” or of that idea “I am not doing great but there are people who are much worse than me” — then your life will
really change.

Children feel everything

Sad but true

A teacher after the dinner she started checking homework done by the students. Her husband is strolling around with a smart phone playing his favourite game ‘Candy Crush Saga’.

When reading the last note, the wife starts crying with silent tears.

Her husband saw this and asked, ‘Why are you crying dear? What happened?’

Wife: ‘Yesterday I gave homework to my 1st Standard students, to write something on topic -My Wish-.’

Husband: ‘OK, but why are you crying?’

Wife: ‘Today while checking the last note, it makes me crying.’

Husband curiously: ‘What’s written in the note that makes you crying?’

Wife: ‘Listen’

My wish is to become a smart phone.

My parents love smart phone very much.

They care smart phone so much that sometimes they forget to care me.

When my father comes from office tired, he has time for smart phone but not for me.

When my parents are doing some important work and smart phone is ringing, within single ring they attend the phone, but not me even...

even if I am crying.

They play games on their smart phones not with me.

When they are talking to someone on their smart phone, they never listen to me even if I am telling something important.

So, My wish is to become a smart phone.

After listening the note husband got emotional and asked the wife, ‘who wrote this?’.

Wife: ‘Our son’.

Gadgets are beneficial, but they are for our ease not to cease the love amongst family and loved ones.

Children see and feel everything what happens with & around them. Things get imprinted on their mind with an everlasting effect. Let’s take due care, so that they do not grow with any false impressions.

Inspire you!!!

“The rain drop from the sky: if it is caught in hands, it is pure enough for drinking. If it falls in a gutter, its value drops so much that it can’t be used even for washing the feet. If it falls on hot surface, it perishes. If it falls on lotus leaf, it shines like a pearl and finally, if it falls on oyster, it becomes a pearl. The drop is same, but its existence & worth depend on with whom it associates.”
Always be associated with people who are good at heart!!

Fallen flowers can not blossom back, but if the roots are strong, new flowers will certainly blossom..
Life is not about what we lost so far, its about what we still can grow..

Respect the person who expect a smile from you..
And Surprise the person who never expected anything from you.

"Be more dedicated to making solid achievements than in running after swift but synthetic happiness. "

Do not store dreams in your eyes.
They may roll down with tears.
Store them in your heart,
each heart beat will inspire you to fulfill them!

"Tirukkural" ancient science on Human behaviour

7. If your child does not respect other people's feelings, it is because instead of speaking to your child, you order and command them.

Tirukkural
written by Tiruvalluvar more than 5000 yrs ago , but not even One Kural of total 1337 have become irrelevant now. It's one of the ancient science on Human behaviour , which has not changed in-spite of environment & technology !  ...
SOME GOLDEN THOUGHTS TO PONDER :-
1. If your child lies to you often, it is because you over-react too harshly to their inappropriate behaviour.

2. If your child is not taught to confide in you about their mistakes, you've lost them.
3. If your child had poor self-esteem, it is because you advice them more than you encourage them.
4. If your child does not stand up for themselves, it is because from a young age you have disciplined them regularly in public.
5. If your child takes things that do not belong to them, it is because when you buy them things, you don't let them chose what they want.
Image result for images of child6. If your child is cowardly, it is because you help them too quickly.
8. If your child is too quick to anger, it is because you give too much attention to misbehaviour and you give little attention to good behaviour.
9. If your child is excessively jealous, it is because you only congratulate them when they successfully complete something and not when they improve at something even if they don't successfully complete it.
10. If your child intentionally disturbs you, it is because you are not physically affectionate enough.
Image result for images of child11. If your child is openly defiant, it is because you openly threaten to do something but don't follow through.
12. If your child is secretive, it is because they don't trust that you won't blow things out of proportion.
13. If your child talks back to you, it is because they watch you do it to others and think its normal behaviour.
14. If your child doesn't listen to you but listens to others, it is because you are too quick to make decisions.

Energy week 28 to 31Dec

Charging Mobile at Night is a National Waste.

Image result for images of energyWe have habit of keeping mobile for charging at night. After 2 hours of charging the mobile is fully charged and for the rest part of night it is connected without any purpose.  As per a recent study approximately 4 watts are consumed during this time. It looks insignificant at personal level. But see the calculation below.
4 watts x 6 hours of additional charging = 24 Watt-hours. Total active mobile users in India are 800 million. Suppose only 10 % people have this habit of night charging (actual % is much more) there are 8 crore indians doing it everyday. 8 crore × 24 Watt hour = 19.2 lakh KWhrs (units) wasted every night for no reason.

Image result for images of energyThis is 1920 MW power. Govt needs  investment of Rs5 crore to create one MW power generation . So GOI needs investment of approxi Rs10000 crore to cater to this power need.

There could be little variation in above figures but it is still huge waste of national resource.
Think ab💡ut it.
